damn canadians
04.22.05 (11:50 am)   [edit]

No snow, no rain, just a light breeze and about 34 degrees for my
morning trek. Really a quiet and relaxing walk that almost lulled me
to
sleep. In fact, I was so relaxed that nature was starting it's call.
Faint at first, and I thought "oh, I can make it back".
Rounding the final corner before reaching the paper machine, there
was
some run off from last night's rain flowing into the storm drain.
Nature was starting to shout. After buying my paper and securing it
under my arm, I started back home. I decided I'd better pick up the
pace a bit, but by then nature was screaming. OK, OK, there is a
secluded spot near where I'd had a moose encounter ealier this week.
It's early in the morning, no traffic and none of the neighbors
seemed
to be stirring. After one last look in front and behind I started
 answering the call. HONK! HONK!
Out of no where this couple appeared and started honking! Where did
they
come from? I shouted "do you mind?, how about a little privacy?"
  They just kept staring.
I could tell they were Canadian, they seemed new to town and had a
rude
 demeanor.
"what's a matter? You never had a nature call?"
After zipping up and trying to continue on my way, those two
Canadians
were following me. Well, I'd just about had enough! Raising my
newspaper
in the air and screamming, I started to run at them. This did the
trick,
and they turned and ran back into the trees for cover. What started
out
as a peacefull morning trek, almost became an international incident.
I don't know why they are called Canadian geese, if they always
return
 to Alaska.

Until next time, see ya.

I had a mental image of an elderly Canadian couple following you in their car... I thought the honking was from their car horn. Either way it's pretty hilarious.
