Super Sunday
02.04.07 (9:30 am)   [edit]
Today is Super Bowl Sunday! To football fans it is both the best sunday of the year, and the worst. All season long the teams of the NFL battle to make it to today's World Championship game. It is the culmination of six months of physical and mental training. And let there be no doubt, today's winner will be the champion of the whole world. No other nation could possibly compete with our boys. Could you imagine an Islamic team? Hahahahaha! Today is also the darkest sunday of the year. When the clock reaches quadruple zeros, the season is OVER! And fans all over the world have to endure six months of NO FOOTBALL. Oh sure, there is NASCAR to help tied us over, but please. The rules of NASCAR are ridiculous. Until they limit owners to just one car, and until they emphasize winning in the points race, NASCAR is just something playing on the tube in the background. True football fans must suffer through withdrawals the best they know how. They have six months to re-aquaint themselves with there children. Six months to go back to church. Six months to get the "ol' lady" a vacation. Or whatever it takes to make sure come August, their sundays are free again. This year I'm trying something new. I have season tickets to the Alaska Wild. The season starts in April and finishes in July. They are the newest member of the Intense Football League. It is arena football that is a notch or two below the Arena league you see on tv. They only have six home games plus the playoffs (if they get there), but we'll see how it goes. I'm sure I'll be reporting on it right here. So enjoy the game but try to prepare yourself for the nasty void that will soon overcome you. One last thing, who the hell signed "Prince" to do the halftime show? Why can't they get some classic rock band? I guess it's gonna be a good bathroom break. My prediction....Colts 37, Bears 23. Later.
