VP Hitman?
02.13.06 (2:20 pm)   [edit]
Wow! Did the democrats jump on this one. Vice President Chaney had a hunting accident and didn't hold an immediate press conference. The Whitehouse is obviously trying to cover it up. That's it, they quit using the CIA and instead are asking the VP to do the dirty work. I think the strategy is for President Bush to invite North Korea's Pyongyang and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on a hunting trip. Then he falls ill the night before and asks Chaney to fill in for him. Genius! I suppose this story falls right into the lap of anti-gun ativists as well. If th VP can have an accident like this in a controlled enviroment, how dangerous is it for us laymen? It's a wonder more deaths aren't attributed to bird hunting. Thank God that here in Alaska anti-gun activists are extremely outnumbered and generally keep to themselves. And we are lobbying the state legislator to ban anti-gun activists from establishing residency in our state. OK, I was joking, but there is a law before the state senate that would give Alaskans the right to shoot anyone that threatens their life. It would also protect the citizen from criminal prosecution. We're taalkin' "old west" mentality here. Now, I'm all for our Constitutional right to bear arms, but I see one little flaw in this bill. Criminals will now be able to shoot each other under the same protection of "fear for their life". Think about it, gangster A meets gangster B, both carrying heat, both scared for their lives, whoever is left standing is exconerated? I sure hope they tweak the bill's wording some before they vote on it. I'll keep you posted. Until next time...

If Cheney were to injure someone in an auto accident we would have the same reaction. Conservatives are reported to be the party of personal responsibility. I'd like to see the Vice President take some personal responsibility. He hasn't come out and said anything. Scott McClellen said that he did everything right. So, does that mean that the administration thinks that lawyers are fair game now?
