Battle of the Beards
01.23.06 (10:34 am)   [edit]
Well, it was a battle for a quarter. Then the young Mr. Roetlisberger pulled his team away and never looked back. Boy, did I blow that prediction? And I had thought that Jake the snake had finally found his groove. Probably should have shaved. My NFL predictions have really sucked this year! If anyone is wagering based on my predictions... you are dumber than dirt! Of course, on the other hand, if you are betting against all of my picks, you are having a pretty good year! But hey, my picks follow the same guidelines as my stock market advice. I've always had a knack for buying high and selling low. I've never quite learned how to make that profiable, but oh well. My final NFL prediction of the year is for the Super Bowl. And here it is: Seattle 24 - Pittsburgh 17 I know, I know, you're thinking "dude, the superbowl is always a high scoring affair. It will be like 42-36 or something." That's a valid point, but not this year. Both teams lean heavily on their running games, and both teams have terrific defenses. Just do the math, it's gonna be low scoring. The 'hawks will be cautious in the beginning, and Big Ben is known for not taking chances. I'm sticking to my prediction. Ad I can't wait to buy me a "world champs - seattle seahawks" t-shirt. Never thought I'd see the day. But hey, congratulations to both organizations. Both coaches lead their teams with class. Both teams deserve to be there. I think the nation will enjoy a hard fought and clean game. The only sad part of the superbowl is it signals the end of another season. Nothing but baseball or nascar to fill the void for a few months. Go Seahawks! Until next time, see ya.
