Whole Lotta Rosie!
03.30.07 (8:34 pm)   [edit]
AC~DC sung about a gal named Rosie, a whole lotta Rosie, who was a whole lotta woman. I love that song. But now when I hear the name Rosie, the first thing that comes to mind is Rosie Odonnell. Probably because her "hate America" dribble is all over the media. Now, I got nothing against her personally, nor have I ever met her. If she wants to hate America, that's her business. And if she wants to be with a woman, that's her business. Probably couldn't get a guy anyway. But somebody please get her off the freakin TV! There are too many mind numb daytime veiwers who she can sell her dribble to, and who will buy into it. I can't understand why anyone watches her to start with. Let's face it, she is a fat , ugly, stupid, dike who relies on "shock value" ploys to compensate for her lack of talent. Still, women tune in. Let's see how many guys would tune into a show featuring a fat, stupid, ugly gay dude with no talent. Yeah, whatever! I have never seen The Veiw, nor will I. But I do think that ABC needs to get this idiot off the air. They do have a right and even a reponsibility to air a variety of opinions, but this dike goes WAY overboard. To suggest that the islamic extremists are misunderstood is utter nonsense. To answer her comment "they are moms and dads too", I would point out the car bombing where the little children were used to pass a checkpoint then left to die. The adults didn't even have the guts to die with them. She has several more quotes that are not only anti-American, but they are just plain wrong! I'm not going to repeat them here, I just have one plea to ABC. Get her off the air now! Please! Lets go back to Whole lotta Rosie from the song, not the freak! Later

Has Spring Sprung?
03.28.07 (8:50 am)   [edit]
It's been a long winter and I'm ready for spring. Yesterday the temperature in Anchorage finally hit the low thirties, 32 officially. But this morning it was back down to four degrees at my house. Actually seeing some water on the ground running from snowbanks was extremely encouraging. The custom motorcycle show was a couple weeks ago, but I didn't attend this year. The temp outside was like 12 degrees and I just couldn't get in the mood. But yesterday's sunshine and resulting melt off has got me thinking "cruising weather". Time to fire up the V-Star and go through my safety checks and adjustments. It wouldn't hurt to turn the hose to it as well. Even though I kept it covered the past several months, somehow the dust finds its way in. A funny coincidence was that I received my seasonal motorcycle insurance bill yesterday as well. I guess that's a true sign that spring has sprung! It's not unusual for Anchorage to get an occasional snowstorm in late March and early April, but I'm not gonna go there! Obviously the roads will take a couple weeks of mild temps before I'll venture out on two wheels, but I'm getting the itch real bad. Nothing like a nice 200 mile cruise on a bright sunny day to take your mind off of politics, even if it's temporary. Ride safe!

Supreme Court Hears Case from Alaska
03.20.07 (10:28 am)   [edit]
In some ways it’s almost an honor that the Supreme Court is hearing a case brought forth by Alaska. But the reality is that an idiot from Juneau got himself in some hot water and has forced the issue all the way to the top. More on the circumstances later. One thing that I find fascinating is the reason this case made it this far. And that is because of the far left, California biased, no clue to reality, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The 9nth (as I’ll refer to them) consistently strikes down lower court rulings, only to be face-slapped by the Supreme Court later on. The last eight cases that made it to the Supreme from the 9nth were reversed. The 9nth is also two years behind in their own court cases. The jurisdiction of the 9nth needs to be split up and a new Appeals Court assembled to handle the case load. Let the 9nth continue to hear California cases (California deserves them), but split off Alaska, Wash., Ore, Idaho, and Montana for a new Court. Bills have been introduced before and are currently pending from Ted Stevens and others. But the California delegation refuses to sign on for fear of losing their strangle hold on the Court of Appeals. What better way for the ACLU and Californians to force their own agenda on the west than by controlling the 9nth? Let’s face it, Nancy Pelosi won’t give it up. And as long as the Dems control Congress we are stuck with the 9nth. Back to the case. This kid Fredericks, then 18 years old thought he’d be funny and hang up a banner that read “bong hits for Jesus”. The venue was across the street from his high school and during a parade through town of the Olympic Torch. With news cameras present and members of the community lining the streets to watch the parade, this little punk unveils his banner looking for the desired effect, shock. I’ve known idiots like him before. They are looking for attention and in doing so they also want to shock people into a knee jerk reaction. They think it’s cool when they get a reaction, any reaction. I don’t know if they were never breast fed, or maybe could never bond with their daddy, or perhaps they are just high and stupid. Whatever the excuse, the part that bothers me most is next. So naturally, he gets in trouble, and he is disciplined by the Principle. Some kind of suspension, I’m not sure how long. But once he and his dad talk to attorneys, suddenly it’s a free speech issue. He now says that it was an “experiment in exercising his free speech”. He says he was “testing the boundaries of his free expression.” Horse manure! That punk clearly came up with that story after he got in trouble and needed a lawyer. It was never about free speech, it was about a stoner who thought he’d be funny. The disciplinary action taken by the Principal was backed by the Superintendent, the School Board, the City Counsel, the Attorney General, and the District Court. Then it was reversed by the 9nth, and let’s hope the Supreme Court restores common sense by reversing the 9nth’s ruling. We should have a ruling in a couple weeks I assume. I’ll be watching for it. Meanwhile, the kid and his dad ran off to China to live and work. I’d like to see an “experiment in exercising free speech” done there! But you know he doesn’t have the kahonas.

Court Dumps D.C.'s Gun Ban!
03.10.07 (9:15 am)   [edit]
Finally, an Appeals Court interpretation of the Constitution that I can agree with. In a landmark ruling, a Federal Appeals Court struck down the District of Columbia’s ban on handgun ownership. Gun control advocates are livid and now are shouting “judicial activism at its worst”. The Court’s opinion was that the wording of the Second Amendment guaranteed a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms, and not just a militia’s right. Of course the liberals have their panties in a bunch. The mayor of D.C., Adrian Fently, vowed to pursue the decision all the way to the Supreme Court. Members of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Handgun Violence are appalled. The cities of Chicago and San Francisco are watching the case fervently. And strangely enough, the mainstream media has not reported the story nationally. Naturally it’s gone unreported. The liberals don’t want us to be able to protect ourselves. They don’t think a criminal who breaks into your home is bad, just a little miss-guided. Never mind if he’s high on crack, it’s not his fault and we shouldn’t blame him. Remember, when you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. The Court went on to say that despite their ruling, the amendment was still subject to “reasonable restrictions” such as gun registrations or ownership limits. But D.C. cannot ban ALL handguns for ALL citizens. The Supreme Court hasn’t ruled on a second amendment case in decades, and law experts feel this case stands a good chance of making it to the court. Back to the example of the gay muslim crack head who breaks into my home, I’m locked and loaded buster. So are my two neighbors. We all agree to shoot first and sort out the second amendment issues later, after your funeral. Remember; in Alaska you can still conceal carry without any permit. Later.

Liberal Bomb Throwing
03.05.07 (1:13 pm)   [edit]
The Sunday edition of the Anchorage Daily News included the usual commentary by Beth Bragg. In her article she called me and others a bigot. I have been called worse, but her accusation touched a nerve. Following is a segment of her article: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Intolerance in Alaska prompts a gay couple's departure BETH BRAGG COMMENT (Published: March 4, 2007) Alaska's many bigots will be thrilled to learn they've helped chase a gay couple out of the country. They'll hear that the Anchorage men whose love story inspired a constitutional amendment legalizing discrimination in Alaska have moved to England, and they'll shout good riddance. They'll congratulate themselves for the role they played in making Jay Brause and Gene Dugan look beyond America in their pursuit of the personal freedoms held so dearly by Americans. If the bigots are lucky, the god to whom they pray will forgive them someday. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX X The article went on and on about these poor gay men who want to be legally recognized the same as married people. I must respond. This is the type of far left thinking that is constantly bombarding our lives at every level. First, the God I pray to does not approve of a gay lifestyle. Second, I’m not congratulating myself on their departure, but I certainly am not sorry to see them go. Third, I do not approve of the homosexual lifestyle. I believe it is a moral question. I also do not approve of polygamy, nor do I want the state to offer benefits to polygamists. It’s not like I’m saying I don’t approve of the color of your skin! Miss Bragg continues in her article to say the fear that gay benefits would “rock the earth off it’s axis” and that marriage should be kept sacred for people like Britney Spears. She is a colorful writer, but those statements are ludicrous. The will of Alaskans is that marriage should be strictly between one man and one woman. Furthermore, outside of that traditional union, benefits shall not be offered. Pointing to cases where traditional marriage has failed is also a poor argument. Miss Bragg, I want to be clear, homosexuality is an immoral lifestyle that I do not support. Traditional Americans do not support it either. By your writing, all traditional Americans are bigots. You even mentioned that it was only two years ago that England changed their laws to recognize gay unions. So I assume, by your reasoning, that until two years ago, the citizens of England were also bigots! You are free to rationalize immoral behavior all you like, but tossing verbal grenades at traditionalists is not good policy. You may be costing hard working Americans their livelihood, as I and others will be canceling our newspaper subscription.
